Accessibility Statement

Last Updated: November 9, 2022

Rise, an initiative of Schmidt Futures and the Rhodes Trust, is committed to making our website and application pathways (the “Services”) as accessible as possible to users with and others with additional needs, including users with visual, hearing, cognitive and motor impairments. While we strive to provide accessibility and usability for users, it may not be possible in all areas of the website with current technology and other restrictions. If you experience any accessibility issues, please contact us to let us know.

Our application process is designed to work all over the planet, so as many people as possible can apply.  Rise invites users to submit responses to essay questions via video; however for applicants without access to a video recording device or for whom the data costs of video upload/download would be a burden, we offer the option of submitting text responses.

If you are unable to access the Rise application because you don’t have a connected device or you have limited data, you may request a printable, paper application. Paper applications are distributed  on an as-needed basis. Please email paperapp@risefortheworld.org to inquire about this option.

We are committed to ensuring that our Services follow best accessibility practices by following the principles of universal design. This ensures the site is flexible and adaptable to different users’ needs or preferences and is accessible through a variety of different technologies, including mobile devices or assistive technologies. This is a work in progress, and we will be constantly learning and improving.

On our Services, we may link to third-party websites (such as Discord, OpenLearning, Zoom, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and may include or use embedded third-party content to share information or promotional content.  We cannot control or correct problems with these third-party websites. You may also want to address your concerns directly to these third parties.

GIVE US FEEDBACK

We are committed to providing accessible Services.  If you experience problems or have any suggestions for improvement, please get in touch with us. We do continuous improvement based on your feedback.
