Kierra is an Indonesian American living in Nevada who is committed to solving social justice issues through computer science solutions. She discovered her love for computer science in middle school when she attended Ad Astra, a private school that emphasizes cultivating STEM skills. Kierra often competes in hackathons and business competitions, where she discovered her love for debating. In just six months, Kierra went from a novice to a varsity debate competitor at the national level. Her Rise project, "Daybreak," is an intelligent, affordable wearable device that protects dementia patients through a GPS tracker and heart-rate monitor.
