Smaran is a highly motivated high schooler with a passion to make a difference. For his Rise project, his commitment to helping others led him to develop a groundbreaking AI-powered app to assist visually challenged individuals navigate their surroundings. The app gives detailed descriptions about users’ surroundings or answers questions they have about anything they point at with the hope that users can become truly independent by helping them navigate the world. Whether it be enhancing his app for the visually challenged, innovating in the housing industry with bio-cement, or creating new remediations for the most debilitating diseases that harm so many, he dreams that, as he pursues these technical fields with his constant hunger to learn more, he will change the world.
