Rise Fellow 2023

Ben is passionate about community-led civic advocacy. She dedicates her time to volunteering with multiple youth-led organizations, empowering young voices and offering valuable solutions to policymakers grappling with persistent challenges. Driven and resourceful, Ben's goal in life is to pair her engineering and public policy skills to advocate for sustainable development. Ben credits her political work—twice a national UN Youth delegate and Queensland Youth Parliament member—as her inspiration for guiding young people to participate in politics. Her Rise project, “Email Lab,” is a user-friendly online resource designed to assist young people with contacting their Members of Parliament and becoming actively involved in the political process.
