Maria Fernanda Velasquez

Peru

Maria Fernanda is an innovator at heart, and is helping to solve water issues through an invention that creates water through accelerated air condensation with clean energies. She created Yaku (@yakufilter), a non-profit organization dedicated to democratizing clean water access in Peru. She loves to put in practice her abilities to help her neighbors and represent her country wherever she goes. Outside of her clean water initiatives, Maria Fernanda's passion for climate activism pushes her to organize strikes and awareness activities in Peru and Italy, where she is currently studying. Maria Fernanda believes that emerging technologies are key to solving global issues, so she strives for constant innovation.
